Let’s Play VI has a variety of boats available, from powerboats to yachts, for groups of different sizes. Tell us how many people are in your party and we’ll help match you with the right boat for your crew.
All ages are welcome, including newborns. Let us know the ages of everyone in your party and we’ll help you find the right charter for your group.
Both the USVI and BVI offer incredible places to visit, and the best choice depends on what you want to experience during your day on the water. If you’re considering a boat charter from St. Thomas to the BVI, we highly recommend exploring destinations such as Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, The Baths and Norman Island.
Because the British Virgin Islands are a separate territory, everyone in your party, including children, will need a valid passport and must meet current BVI entry requirements. We’ll help you understand what’s needed before your charter so you can plan your day with confidence.
Not sure where to go? Visit our Destinations page for ideas throughout the USVI and BVI. We can also help plan your boat charter based on your available time, budget and what your group wants to experience. Call or email us with any questions—we’d love to help you plan the perfect day on the water.
Possibly. Virgin Gorda is about 1.5–2 hours each way by boat, plus time for customs and immigration. Depending on sea conditions, weather and remaining time, one additional stop may be possible. If you choose The Baths at Virgin Gorda, we recommend planning for it to be the main destination of your BVI boat charter.
Additional costs depend on your boat and itinerary. BVI trips include international processing and customs fees, while fuel varies based on your destinations and is paid to the captain on the day of your trip. You should also plan for your captain’s gratuity, lunch, drinks, souvenirs and other personal expenses. We’ll let you know what applies to your specific charter before your trip.
Yes. If you have children in your party, let us know their ages and we’ll help choose a boat that is safe and practical for your family.
Most of the boats we charter have shade, although some offer more than others. If plenty of shade is a priority for your group, let us know and we’ll help you choose the right boat.
Yes, we have charter boats with bathrooms onboard. If a bathroom is important to your group, please let us know when you inquire so we can make sure this need is met.
Most of our charter boats provide snorkel gear, although some require you to bring or rent your own. We’ll let you know whether snorkel gear is included with your boat and where you can rent equipment if needed.
Lunch is provided on select luxury excursions. For other charters, you can bring your own lunch or stop at one of the many restaurants throughout the islands. We’ll let you know what is included with your specific charter.
Ice and bottled water are provided on all charters. Some boats also include soda and beer, while luxury excursions and sailing charters may offer an open bar. We’ll let you know exactly which beverages are included with your charter and whether any specialty items are an additional charge.
BVI customs fees are currently $75 cash per person, plus a $70 credit-card-only USVI boat re-entry fee. An additional $20 per boat applies on Sundays and BVI holidays. We’ll confirm the current fees and requirements with you before your BVI charter.
The industry standard is 20–25% of the boat charter price. If your captain gives you a five-star day on the water, please tip accordingly.
We accept cash, credit cards, Venmo and PayPal. Contact us if you have questions about payment for your specific boat charter.
Full-day charters are typically 7.5–8 hours, depending on the operator, and many boats also offer 4-hour half-day charters. You can ask your captain to return to the dock early at any time. Extensions may be available for an additional charge in USVI waters only. Ask us about availability if you’d like to extend your day.
Bring non-aerosol sunscreen, towels, a photo ID, a camera, and any food or beverages not included with your charter. Bring cash and a credit card for additional expenses. If you’re traveling to the BVI, you’ll also need a valid passport. We’ll let you know in advance if you need to bring or rent snorkel gear.
Charters typically go out rain or shine, but your captain will make the final decision based on weather and sea conditions. If conditions are not safe and the captain cancels the trip, we’ll do our best to reschedule your charter or provide any available refund.
Departure locations vary by boat. Let us know where you’re staying, as we may be able to arrange pickup at or near your resort in St. Thomas or St. John. Once your charter is confirmed, we’ll provide detailed pickup instructions so you know exactly where to meet your boat.
Our captains are USCG Masters and STCW certified in open-water rescue, first aid and CPR, firefighting and water survival. Boats carry life preservers for adults and children along with required safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, life rings and marine VHF radios. Your captain will review important safety information with your group before departure.
Let’s Play VI has a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of your scheduled charter, your deposit is nonrefundable and the remaining balance may be charged to the credit card on file. If your plans change, please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Every day on the water is different. Tell us about your group, where you’re staying and what you’d like to experience, and we’ll help you find the right boat and plan your perfect day in the USVI or BVI.
